The Timios Prodromos Monastery (St. John the Baptist) is located in the Troodos woodland region near Mesa Potamos. The Monastery “is nestled among lovely mountains covered in dense pine trees, with springs of pure water beside a little river or a large downpour.” This was written in the 18th century by the Russian wanderer Barsky on his journeys throughout the island, identifying and describing all the churches and monasteries he came across.

Trooditissa Monastery, located on the southern slopes of the Troodos Mountains, is one of the few monasteries in Cyprus for which the date of foundation is unclear. On the basis of local legend, it is thought that it was founded immediately after the iconoclastic period (8th-9th century A.D.).

The church of Archangel Michael is located in a central region of the Troodos mountain range, in the Marathasa valley, in the village of Pedoulas. It was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1985, among nine other painted Byzantine churches of the Troodos mountain range. According to the inscription above the north entrance, the church was constructed and embellished with frescoes in 1474, thanks to the generosity of priest Vasilios Chamados. The priest, along with his wife and two daughters, is shown above the dedicatory inscription presenting an architectural model of the church to the Archangel Michael.
The Panagia church is located in a central region of the Troodos mountain range, near the Marathasa valley. It is situated on a hill overlooking the town of Moutoullas. It was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1985, among nine other painted Byzantine churches of the Troodos mountain range. According to the inscription on the north wall of the Holy Bema, the church was constructed and painted with frescoes in 1280 by the generosity of Ioannis of Moutoullas and his wife, Irene. They are each shown carrying a replica of the church. Therefore, it is conceivable that the Church of Panagia tou Moutoulla was originally a private chapel.
The Transfiguration of the Savior Church is found in the eastern Trodos Mountains. It is perched on a small hill overlooking the eastern section of the Palaichori village. In 2000, it was listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It was constructed at the start of the sixteenth century and is a single-aisled church with a wooden roof, typical of the Troodos region. The narthex was built at the beginning of the 17th century.
