Timios Prodromos

The Timios Prodromos Monastery (St. John the Baptist) is located in the Troodos woodland region near Mesa Potamos. The Monastery “is nestled among lovely mountains covered in dense pine trees, with springs of pure water beside a little river or a large downpour.” This was written in the 18th century by the Russian wanderer Barsky on his journeys throughout the island, identifying and describing all the churches and monasteries he came across.
