OVERVIEW

Ayia Thekla is the most westerly beach in Ayia Napa and is comprised of a modest main beach and numerous private sand sections around the shore. During peak season and national holidays, when many of the adjacent vacation villas are occupied by tourists, the beach becomes more crowded. This is a beach less frequented by tourists for people who wish to move away from the big tourist beaches. Ayia Thekla is a freshly constructed area on Ayia Napa’s western border. The development of this area began in the late 1990s, and today it consists of miles-long stretches of contemporary villa estates. On the beachfront, a huge hotel building was constructed recently. Ayia Thekla church and a collection of ancient tombs in the rocks are located just east of the shore.
